We’re delighted to announce the 2024 re-opening of our indoor space THE POTTING SHED with a limited edition, pop-up season of delicious Scandinavian food, alongside some of our favourite pizzas. Our limited edition season is delivered by Meg Greenacre, the Chef behind our smash-hit show, GASTRONOMIC.

We’ll be open THURSDAYS, FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS for 4 weekends only during February 2024.

WHAT?
BOTANICAL GARDEN BAR & KITCHEN was set up in 2020 and is managed by an independent theatre company, and our aim is to welcome you and your group as guests into our home, in a relaxed, easy-going atmosphere.

We source all of our produce with a Norfolk/Norwich theme in mind.

WHERE?
BOTANICAL GARDEN BAR & KITCHEN is at curious directive’s making space, 49 Elm Hill (the entrance is opposite the Maids Head Hotel on Wensum Street, NR3 1HG) - look for the beautiful garden - you can't miss us!

10 FAQs

1. I’m coming to see a curious directive theatre production. Is it the same entrance?
   No, the theatre entrance is around the footprint of the church from Botanical Garden Bar entrance. If you arrive early and there is a spare table, our Duty Manager will try to get you a seat and this will enable you to take a drink into the show (in a plastic cup). It’ll be clear when the house is open for the show.

2. I have accessibility requirements, how do I let you know about these prior to arrival?
   Please contact us and let us know so we can be sure to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.

3. It’s going to rain, what do I do?
   Seating is mostly outside (16 tables) but we have a small number of indoor tables (4-5 small tables of 1-4). All tables outside are equipped with waterproof parasols and gazebos which are put up if we think it’s going to rain (trust us). So you won’t get wet.

4. Are children allowed?
   Yes. Children must be at the same table as adults, accompanied. And other normal rules apply.

5. We have a pram, will that be ok?
   Yes, we have access to the garden via a shingle walkway up onto the lawn.

6. Are dogs allowed?
   Yes. Please keep your dog on a lead. As far as we’re aware there are no poisonous plants in our Botanical Garden.

7. I need to cancel, can I do that?
   Please note that last minute cancellations or 'no shows' are highly disruptive to our not-for-profit business model. Please set a good example and be kind with your decision making. If you need to cancel, please do let us know at least 24 hours in advance to allow us to try to fill your space. If you cancel after the 24 hour notice period, we will have to retain your deposit as our costs cannot alter after that point. 8. Can I see the menu?
   Our menu changes weekly. However, we have 5 types of wood-fired Pizza. Our drinks menu is extensive.

9. Are there vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options?
   We have vegetarian and vegan options - but not gluten free dough (we only have one small kitchen).

10. How long are you open?
    We’re open Thursday & Friday 5:30pm-10:45pm and then Saturday 12:30-10:45pm.

11. Do you serve food all the time? Please note that on a Saturday, no pizzas will be served until 5:30pm.
